"I do not believe that civilization will be wiped out in a war fought with the atomic bomb. Perhaps two-thirds of the people of the Earth might be killed, but enough men capable of thinking, and enough books, would be left to start again, and civilization could be restored."

—Albert Einstein (1875-1955) German-born American theoretical physicist, theories of relativity, philosopher

The Bad Axe Area District Library celebrates its 100th Birthday!

Join us for a 100th Birthday celebration!  On September 15th, 2013, the Bad Axe Library will be celebrating 100 years of operation in the City of Bad Axe.  Although its location has changed, the mission has remained the same -- to make information and resources available to our patrons.  We are proud to offer a variety of services, resources, and information to our patrons, bringing the world to our largely rural community.

In order to honor the community that has been committed to supporting the library, our Centennial Celebration will take place on September 15, 2013 from 2-5 pm.  During this Celebration we will be showcasing hobbies and collections of community members.  We will also be holding an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social from 4-5 pm.  Come help us celebrate the vibrant life of your hometown Library.  Here's to the next 100 years!
