Position:                      Library Clerk

Rate of Pay:                $14.00 per hour  

Hours:                         12-15 hours per week, including some evenings and Saturdays

Date Available:           January 2026 

Summary:

The Bad Axe Area District Library is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Library Clerk.  Qualified candidates will be dedicated to excellent customer service and be able to work independently with attention to detail. 

Qualifications:           

·         High school diploma or equivalent required.  Must be at least 18 years old.

·         Library work experience preferred.

·         Strong computer skills required.  Must be able to use Microsoft Office and various web-based applications proficiently.  Must be able to assist patrons with computer questions. 

·         Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills.

Primary Job Duties:   

·         Assisting patrons at the circulation desk

·         Shelving library materials and maintaining an orderly facility

·         Processing interlibrary loan materials

·         Other duties as assigned  

Requirements:

·         The job requires moderate physical exertion such as sitting or standing in one position, viewing a computer screen for long periods and using hands and fingers in activities requiring good coordination and dexterity. The job also requires the physical strength and dexterity to handle up to 25 pounds in weight, transport loaded carts and bend and lift arms overhead
